Our Hobart Spring Skills & Safety Course will focus on open water skills & safety in the comfort of the Clarence YMCA pool, and is delivered in partnership with Paddle Tasmania.
The course will cover safety & rescue techniques suitable for ocean skis, surfskis & multisport kayaks in local beach & open water conditions. During this course we will simulate a range of self-rescue and assisted-rescue scenarios.
The course will teach you the skills needed to become a competent and safe paddler when enjoying your local estuaries and beaches. This hands-on course emphasises safety awareness, skill development and practice as solutions to real-life problems likely to be experienced while paddling. Alongside the use of safety devices and a wide range of general safety, weather forecasting and equipment tips, our Spring Skills & Safety Course will arm you with knowledge and confidence to look after yourself and your friends while out paddling.
