Our Women on Water sessions are coached by women for women. We have a choice of 3 sessions at varying venues that offer 3 different focuses. The weekday times allow time for school drop-off and pick-up, and offer an alternative to early morning group sessions. 'Girls only' removes the pressure to 'keep up' with the guys.
Our WOW sessions are social, a great way to do something for yourself, as well as great for your fitness, especially if you can make 2 or 3 sessions each week. Questions can be asked and answered easily and while the fitness focus is still there, it can feel as relaxed or as intense as you want while you are on the water. We even have all the gear if you don’t have your own!
Sunday is our original and most relaxed session, with a focus on technique and skills while playing within the safety of the bay or river, through to challenging ourselves along the cliffs with the conditions determining the major priority of the day. The wide range of options at Kingston Beach makes paddling all year round a possibility.
Tuesday afternoons, in our spring and summer rounds, have a definite skills base to them with the sea breeze being our friend in the late afternoon! Long Beach offers a fantastic level of protection within the bay, and challenges when we get into the wind line.
Thursday mornings allow you to drop the kids off to school and get to Marieville Esplanade without feeling rushed. This session will be focused more along the lines of training, with the generally calmer conditions giving us a chance to work on technique, that will not only make you a more efficient paddler, it will help prevent injury too.
These Women on Water sessions will run over a 4-week block starting on 13/11/18 and going until 09/12/18. We plan and communicate each block of training in advance, and post weekly schedules and venues during each block.
